Over the past weeks the team was called on an urgent work order on a super yacht berthed in Malta. The yacht was originally meant to have restoration works in The Netherlands but ultimately chose Malta for its capabilities and hard working professionals. FIN carried out the designing, manufacturing and installation a number of aluminium structures and other emergency engineering works around the super yacht.
The recently bolstered team of mechanical engineers quickly started working on this project and worked long hours to ensure that the works are finished within the limited time frame available. The main project involved engineering works on aluminium profile structures, provided by our partners BETT Sistemi, which will be used to support the yacht’s jet ski’s storage. Other structures will also be used to hold water sport equipment and for general storage. The team also carried out works in stainless steel and rubber to hold the ship’s smaller pleasure craft during transit.
“At the end of the day the team is in great spirits because we delivered what was asked for, on time and on budget. The client is happy and the team can be proud of the work done, knowing that the yacht, and our work, will be travelling around the globe.” (Mr. Zarb, mechanical engineering team).
Extensive work was carried out in other parts of this luxury super yacht. FIN’s mechanical team were tasked with engineering works related to the yacht’s helipad and bar canopy. It was a truly unique experience working on such a large and luxurious vessel.
